Enter In - To The Life God Promised YouUzorak
TAKE TWELVE STONES
What we bring with us from our past will shape our future.
Did you know that you can choose what aspects of your past you should celebrate and which ones you should forget? Everything we take with us will impact our future. We need to choose the right memories to build monuments around.
In Joshua chapter 4 it says “in the future when your descendants ask their fathers, what did the stones mean? Tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground’”. We need to form a habit of taking something from when God moves on our behalf to remember it in the days to come - this builds our faith and the faith of those around us. God does the miracle, we build the monument. But the responsibility lies with us to choose which memories to hold onto.
Today’s emotional state is being shaped by which memories of yesterday we choose to focus on. For us to ENTER IN to the life God has for us we need to be wise and intentional about not carrying past hurts but instead focusing on the victories God has won for us. The wonder of a moment is lost without a monument, and a wrongly constructed monument is harmful and not helpful - but the good news is we can tear them down and build new ones!
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
How is your past shaping your future?
What memories are you holding onto that are unhelpful and need to be torn down?
What is one thing God has done in your life that you can build a monument around to share that good news?
PRAY:
God today I want to thank You for what You’ve done in my life already! Help me to tear down harmful memories and instead share the stories and build great monuments to Your glory.
