The Key to Personal ChangeUzorak
TURN FROM IT!
Up until now, for the first 3 days of our plan, we’ve talked about confessing, admitting and accepting our responsibility. All of this is absolutely necessary, but it’s not enough to change the direction in our life. Good intentions and resolutions are not enough. We need to turn from those patterns of thinking and conduct that sink us. We must take the right path and stay on it.
I fully understand that breaking addictions or behaviors that have been rooted in our operating system for years and years is easier said than done. But, I am confident that small steps in the right direction will eventually help you end where God intends you to end. Keep attending your local church. If you’re not doing so, I would urge you to reconnect with it as soon as you can. You need the embracement and the nurturing support of a group of imperfect people that will help you seek God together. This also implies having to cut toxic and unhealthy relationships out of your life, as they may be preventing you from getting closer to God.
DAY 4 CHALLENGE
Keep meeting on a regular basis with your mentor, your pastor, spiritual leader or professional counselor. Try to find a community of believers and disciples that you can be a part of. Get involved as a volunteer in your local church. Start reading the Bible again. Make it a priority to discover your true identity in Christ. Start serving others. All of this will bear fruit at the right time.
