Day 6: A Time of Gratitude and a Time of Prayer
Rhett Walker - “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
“‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ sets the Christmas feel for me in my house. It’s always been the song [we listen to] when me and my family sit around the fireplace and count our blessings for another great year and Jesus.” - Rhett Walker
When the year comes to an end, it’s natural to reflect all that’s gone on - the highs, the lows, the mundane moments, and the big memories… they all come rushing back and so does a flood of emotions.
This season, as you reflect on your year, whether it’s been full of highs, lows, or a roller coaster like most people’s year has been, take a moment now to list out the top ten things you are grateful for this past year - it could be what you’ve learned from a situation, it could be the people around you, or it could be as simple as the fact that you’ve made it to the next year. Let the end of the year be painted with gratitude.
The next step is to take a moment and list out your top ten prayers for the new year - what you hope to learn, how you hope to grow, prayers for those around you, etc. Let your new year be painted with prayer and hope as it approaches.
