[Bible Trek Luke] Luke 4 Kingdom ChallengesUzorak
Stay Loyal to Jesus
Simon Peter had a hard situation, trying to keep his words of loyalty to Jesus. How many times have we denied Jesus with what we do or say?
Read the Bible
It’s the last night Jesus is spending with his disciples just before he is arrested. Simon Peter loves Jesus, and declares that he will follow him even to prison and death! But Jesus knows Peter’s weaknesses, and predicts that Peter will say that he doesn’t even know Jesus three times before the rooster crows in the morning! And that’s exactly what happens.
Think about it
Can you imagine how Peter felt when he heard that rooster crow? Terrible! The Bible tells us he cried hard. He hadn’t been loyal to Jesus! We must never be afraid or embarrassed to talk about Jesus! We should be as faithful to him as he is to us, no matter what people think. Remember to stay loyal to Jesus even when it’s hard!
Do something about it
Find a picture of a rooster in an old magazine. Cut it out and glue it to a piece of paper. Underneath the picture, write, “Be loyal to Jesus!” Hang it on your wall to let it remind you to never be afraid or embarrassed to talk about Jesus to your friends!
Talk to God
“God, help me to be true to you! Let me never be ashamed of being your friend.”

Welcome to the fourth devotional of this exciting trek through Luke! For the next seven days, we’ll walk alongside a follower of Jesus, Luke. Jesus taught that God’s kingdom is both in us and in the work God does through us. Every time we talk to God, worship God, tell others about God, and serve people around us to show God’s love, we are making the kingdom of God grow!
