DAN 27 OD 33

Are You Blind?!

Rex Stump

Ready:

“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News.” 2 Corinthians 4:4a

Set:

”Are you blind, ref?” “Come on, anyone can see that was a foul!” Have those words ever come out of your mouth at a sporting event? If you attend athletic events, you will most likely hear fans proclaim that the official is blind because no penalty was called.

What if you know something is true or possibly dangerous and you try to warn people, but they just won’t listen? We know that drugs will destroy the body and mind, yet people choose to engage in destructive habits. Are they blind to the truth?

Paul chose a Greek word for blind, which doesn’t mean unable to see, rather it means someone who has been intentionally blinded by someone else. Someone has intentionally removed the eyes and permanently blinded them. Paul is saying that Satan has intentionally blinded people from seeing a correct view of the way things are.

As Christians, it is time for us to live with our eyes wide open to what is taking place around us! The sin around us is destroying lives! Maybe you don’t want to offend those who are not Christians, or you want to respect their choices. Respecting their choices won’t get them out of hell. Tolerating their beliefs won’t stop Satan from destroying their life eternally.

Quit closing your eyes to these things, thinking they won’t harm anyone. Sin destroys. May the light of God shine from us and penetrate the darkness.

Go:

1. What did you see today that others seem blind to?

2. How did you feel when truth became clear to you?

3. Who do you need to share truth with today?

Overtime:

Heavenly Father, it is time I make the most of the opportunities that You have given to me. Help me to shine brightly for You today.
