Courageous Humility Pt. 1Shembull
In Joshua, “be strong and courageous” is stated several times in the first chapter. We then move into the second chapter, where we witness a Canaanite woman, Rahab, being strong and courageous although she stated: “no one has the courage to fight”. Rahab expressed in verse 10, the Canaanites had heard the testimony of God drying up the Red Sea and conquering two kings. The Canaanites had only heard, not seen and witnessed like the Israelites, what the Lord had done. As a result, at least one woman in a foreign land, destined to be overcome by God’s people, was saved.
As we read this, do we see how our decision to live faithfully to God’s leading may cause others to see or hear of God’s faithfulness and cause them to be saved, similar to God’s movement on behalf of the Israelites? Rahab was a harlot [prostitute] of Jericho who aided God’s spies to escape.
Do we see how overcoming our past and allowing Christ to give us a new song to sing may save others from the destructive places they find themselves in?
Do we see from James, we are blessed with the witness of Rahab today? That not only our pasts may be changed by how others live for God, but others too will see an entire future and lineage impacted by our acts of kindness and reverence towards the Lord?
Prayer: Lord, this morning I pray we see what it is You are illustrating for us. I pray we see the impact we may have on the lives of others, by choosing to live strong and courageously for You. I pray we have the courage to overcome our past and continue on towards a future settled and safe within You. Cause us to move boldly with kindness, extending protection and Salvation that only comes through You, to all we interact with, as Your Spirit leads. Lord, thank you for the reminder this walk with You is not only about us and our Salvation, but it is for others and their salvation as well. We ask these for these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
