Strong as a MotherShembull

Strong as a Mother

DITA 16 NGA 21

The imagery of spry deer climbing up the high edges of a mountain-scape is something straight out of a National Geographic documentary. If you have ever held your breath as you watched their delicate hooves maneuver rocky cliff sides, then you also know the relief of seeing one make it all the way to level ground. They always seem to make it!

When you consider the word “strength,” a deer is probably not the first animal that pops into your mind. Maybe an elephant, with its sheer size and bulk, A grizzly bear with its giant paws and fierce weight, or even a tiger with its echoing roar and deadly jaw, all come to mind a little more quickly. While each of those animals is equally impressive in their own way, none of them scale mountains quite like the deer.

What’s the point? Is this suddenly a zoology course? The point is that the deer’s strength is much more delicate, much less obvious, but equally effective for its purpose. Find your strength, dear one, in God. When you do, you don’t always need to be loud and obvious; sometimes, He makes you delicate and precise. As you tread through today, my prayer is that you will find strength for the narrow places and rise above every obstacle with a delicate strength straight from the throne room of Heaven.

Let's pray,

God, You are my strength. Thank You! I lay down every false strength. Today, help me see strength that You have designed for me. I ask for strength for today; help me navigate every tricky place in strength that comes from You. Amen.

Strong as a Mother

Mothers' strength awes me as they manage life, carry others, and handle countless responsibilities. Your strength, spirit, and love inspire me to be a better mom. This devotional offers inspiration and practical support. May your strength renew itself daily. As you connect with Jesus, hear His voice, and remember, the Father sees your unseen efforts. If ever uncertain, know that I believe in your strength as a mother. - Pastor Meredith
