Rest for the Weary

DITA 2 NGA 5

Come All Who Are Weary

Come was an invite—a beautiful call—from Jesus to those who believed in him. While the Pharisees lived in unbelief and used a "DO" approach with people, Jesus valued belief and invited people in with an intimate call.

As we touched on, belief is foundational. The truth is, people who don't believe won't find rest. Jesus didn't want to force another task onto our to-do list. He wanted his gift to be found in relationship. He made an invitation to trust Him versus a command to fall in line.

He says come all who are weary and burdened. He said it more than two thousand years ago, and he extends that same call to you today.

Are you laboring without relief? Tired? Weary?

I get it. I get that exhaustion makes it hard to show up for your family, do well at work, and pursue your passion. And it makes it really easy to fall into temptation. Please, don't live here. Jesus offers you soul-deep rest—much more than any Netflix binge can offer. And there are two keys to this rest, which we will explore over the next two days.

Until then, I encourage you to go to God today and express your weariness to Him. Share your heart concerns; this is what intimacy is all about anyway. The best way to find rest starts with a relationship with Jesus and coming to him with all your burdens.
