“I Know the Milky Way to Grow.”

Many experts believe that milk is the most nourishing of all foods. It has almost everything we need for growth and good health.

And there are lots of ways to take it in: butter, buttermilk, cheese, evaporated milk, whole milk, low-fat milk, skim milk, yogurt, chocolate milk, cream, sour cream, and even ice cream.

Peter compares the Word of God to pure spiritual milk. 

When we read it, remember what it says, and do what it teaches, it helps us, as God’s children, to grow up. We become strong Christians, confident in what we believe. We rest in the salvation that’s ours as believers in Jesus, God’s Son. We develop an assurance that all our sins are forgiven.

But this milky way to grow isn’t automatic. 

You’ve got to personally choose to pick it up, and drink in big glassfuls of it.
