Feeling Better: Devotions From Time Of GraceChikamu
My Heart: I feel used
Some days I am certain that there is no justice. Yesterday I received a parking ticket even though I had paid to park. And I keep getting incorrectly billed exorbitant amounts by a certain local company whose retail manager admits that the billing is incorrect.
How about you? Do you have tire tracks on your shoulder blades right now? Does it grieve you that people who have taken advantage of you seem to be getting away with it? "They say, 'The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed'" (Psalm 94:7). It's hard to stay cheerful when it sure looks like crime does pay.
Here's the truth: "Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?" (Psalm 94:9). Back in my student days I always tried to sit way in the back so that the teacher couldn't see when I was fooling around or doing homework for a different class. After I became a teacher myself, I had to laugh when I realized that you could see everything from up in front. My old profs knew what was going on.
From his lofty vantage point, God sees and remembers everything. At just the right time he will compensate people who have done what is right and bring judgment upon those who have done evil. Relax. Let go. Sleep well.
