A Minute For Mommy

DAY 29 OF 31

No Matter What

Until Clay and Caleb were born, I never really grasped the true meaning of unconditional love. From the moment I found out I was expecting, they had my heart in a way I never could have imagined. They fill me with more joy and happiness than I thought possible. Whether my time with the boys is encouraging or discouraging, my love for them grows stronger and stronger every day.

I love when my boys cuddle up next to me on the couch, when they laugh, or when they tell me their funny stories. They can throw their toys across the room in anger, drag dirt over my freshly cleaned carpet, or tell me they are mad at me; although it may be upsetting or frustrating, my heart is still theirs. I will always be there for them, guide them, and encourage them no matter what they do or say. I will forever love and cherish them. Nothing can change that. I know you feel the same way about your children.

How amazing it is that our Lord loves each of us with this same unconditional love. Just as we look adoringly at our children and smile, I believe he looks down on us from his heavenly throne with delight and adoration. It doesn't matter if we are doing everything right or if we are making mistakes, he loves us with all his almighty and powerful heart. Like our children, our actions may anger or displease our Father, but nothing can separate us from his love. He will always be there for us, teaching us, comforting us, and advising us. Is there any greater love than that?

God loves you so much. When times get challenging, he loves you. When you mess up, he loves you. When you celebrate a victory, he loves you. When you experience defeat, he loves you. If you are young or if you are old, he loves you. God has and will always love you, no matter what!

As you spend time with God today, reflect on the deep love you have for your children and rejoice over the deeper love God has for you!
