Fruit of the Spirit: A 14-Day Fast DevotionalChikamu
Peace is a gift from God, one that goes beyond feelings and circumstances. In John 14:27, Jesus said, "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." This peace is not something you can earn or find in the world. It is a supernatural gift that guards our hearts and minds when you trust in Jesus.
In moments of anxiety, fear, or uncertainty, God’s peace can become a spiritual weapon. Just as Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4:39 by declaring, "Peace, be still," you too can speak peace into the battles you face. This peace is not passive; it is active and powerful, transforming storms into calm and anxiety into assurance. When you stand in faith, trusting God’s authority, His peace enables us to rise above fear and walk in confidence.
No matter what trials you face, the peace of God surpasses all understanding and provides strength to guard our hearts and minds. By receiving this gift through faith, you are empowered to declare peace over our lives, knowing that Jesus has already overcome the world.
Discussion Questions:
- How can you actively wield God’s peace as a weapon against anxiety or fear?
- What area of your life needs the declaration of “Peace, be still” today?
