The Mended Rib: A 27-Day Devotional for Men Battling Lust and InfidelityChikamu
You Are Not Unworthy
Many struggles with lust, infidelity, or self-worth stem from a misunderstanding of your true identity. The world constantly bombards us with messages that tie our value to success, power, physical appearance, or social status. But Scripture tells a different story—your true worth is found in Christ. You are chosen, valued, and set apart by God. When you fully understand who you are in Him, the need for validation from external sources diminishes. Knowing your worth in Christ gives you the confidence to reject the lies that lust and temptation offer, grounding you in a deeper, unshakeable truth.
Personally, I struggled for years with extreme insecurities. I doubted my ability to be faithful, constantly felt unworthy and was convinced that God was disgusted with me. Because I believed God saw me this way, I began to see myself through the same distorted lens. That belief trapped me in a cycle of shame, guilt, and self-sabotage.
However, everything began to change when I truly devoted myself to God. As I sought Him first and then recommitted myself to my wife, God started revealing the lies I had been living under. He replaced them with His truth. Clinging to His Word over my life transformed my self-worth and helped me recognize the intrinsic value He created me with. Understanding who I am in Christ gave me the strength to walk in freedom and integrity, rejecting the false identities that the world—and my own insecurities—had placed on me.
Knowing who you are in Christ is the foundation for living a life of true freedom, purity, and integrity.
Challenge
