Daily Nuggets of Grace - Part 8: Peacemaker!Chikamu
Live Out Love Toward Unbelievers
In Christ, we’re called to love those who are not in Christ.
We are called to set forth the message of Jesus plainly, but without love, we fail to represent the Savior who is love.
After living as a believer for several years, it is easy to forget what life was like before faith in Jesus. It is even more complicated when we have been around the Christian faith since childhood. Non-believers are from a different place. Their ways of thinking and choices are radically different from those of believers.
Paul brings this to light in 2 Corinthians 4, verses 3 & 4. He says that non-believers are blinded from seeing the truth. This is a tragic reality. We can give a careful, accurate explanation of the gospel without response. Why? The path to belief is longer than we realize. And it is opposed by a spiritual enemy.
How can we express love toward non-Christians as we share the message of Jesus?
Allow them into your life. Non-believers need to see that Christian beliefs work in real life. This may shock them. They may become curious about why God’s truth works. Without curiosity, there will be no conversation.
Let them feel God’s love through you as they journey through life. It’s easy for us to love certain people. But, how will we treat those we find difficult to love? Let us love simply because God loved us first. This can be difficult, but what better way to let the light shine out of darkness than to show kindness to someone who knows they don’t deserve it?
Love is important, but it’s not enough. People also need to know why we love them. Though you may feel inadequate – like a clay jar – when sharing the reason for love, remember that you have a treasure inside. You’ve got the One who gives life, hope, and purpose. You’ve got the power of God in you to share that message with others.
There is simply nothing more loving than telling someone about God’s amazing grace. In Him alone are people’s souls truly satisfied.
So, let’s Reflect and Respond:
Let’s be aware and wonder what God has already done in people we meet. God is at work.
Now, Let’s Pray:
Father, may I be bold and sensitive as I speak to non-believers. Let me recognize where they are on the path to faith in Your Son. Amen.
Now, let’s dive into the scriptures of this theme…

There is a war for the love of God. This all out war makes perfect sense since loving God is the first and most important commandment. This vital ingredient, love, is how the world will know we are Christians. Daily Nuggets of Grace is a tool to help Christians remove barriers like guilt, shame, fear, and pride while learning to abide in and recover their first love for Christ.
