Jesus Christ Is All in AllChikamu
God is fully present in Jesus Christ
“For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell” (Colossians 1:19)
Jesus Christ was born as a human baby. In doing so, He temporarily renounced His position in heaven. He chose to become human. But He did not cease to be God at the same time. Even when Jesus lived as a man on earth, His divine power was sometimes apparent, for example in the miracles He performed. His superhuman wisdom was also evident from His words. On one occasion His glory became visible: “His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light.” But otherwise Jesus looked like an ordinary human being.
After Jesus died and rose again, He returned to heaven. There He was “highly exalted” as a reward for His salvation work. He was seated “at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” This already made it clearer that “all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Him” (see Colossians 2:9).
At the end of time, Jesus will come to earth once more. Then His divine glory will be visible to all. Then He will reign full of power and majesty. For Jesus is fully God. His incarnation has not changed that.
Do you see Jesus primarily as man or primarily as God? Does your image of Him fit the verses we have read today?

Jesus Christ is greater than all. By Him all things were created, and in Him all things hold together. Moreover, in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He forgives us all our trespasses, reconciling to God all things, whether on earth or in heaven. If we are united with Jesus, there’s nothing more to long for. He really is all in all!
