Godly Self-Care

DAY 7 OF 7

Benefits of Godly Self-Care

Overall, taking care of yourself will improve your world and the world around you. When you feel better in mind and body, you feel motivated to live better and are better prepared for the day-to-day stresses that occur. This practice of self-care is personal to each one of us, and there is no right way to do it, but there are plenty of wrong ways. Placing yourself central in your own life is going to make sure that you can be on the periphery of those you love and care about.

Our choices and actions on our overall well-being and the quality of our lives is underscored by aligning our thoughts, behaviors, and intentions with God’s principles of harmony, love, and compassion. Every choice we make, big or small, contributes to shaping the kind of person we’re becoming and targets the quality of your life. These choices gradually steer us toward either a state of harmony and peace or one of conflict and suffering.

Spiritual self-care suggests that being in harmony with God, others, and oneself leads to a state of joy, peace, knowledge, and God’s power. This implies living in accordance with His principles of love, grace, and interconnectedness. Conversely, being in a state of war and hatred with God, others, and oneself leads to suffering and despair. This state is characterized by anger, arrogance, emptiness, and loneliness.

Rest and self-care present opportunities for advancing the kingdom of God and the gospel message. It brings forward our choices and actions that continually shape our trajectory toward greater fulfillment and happiness. Ultimately, the self-care journey paints a picture of a full life as a believer who takes responsibility, makes choices, and actions that define our path. We let God guide us to the right path and take extra care to live with intentionality, truthfulness, grace, and compassion. And these choices will cultivate a life of meaning, purpose, and harmony.

The discipline of restful self-care encourages us and reminds believers of the transformative power of our choices and actions. Let’s be people of God who fill our days with choices that are aligned with higher principles of the love of God, love of others, and yourself. Keep your mind on heavenly matters, living as a citizen of Heaven. When doing so you will be in tune with God while living with joy, peace, power, knowledge, love, and wisdom.

About this Plan

Godly Self-Care

We live in a society that glorifies productivity and self-care. Have you found yourself exhausted or with nothing left at the end of the day? This endless process of production leaves no margin for rest. If the shadow of guilt and shame have cast heavy clouds of darkness over you or if you’re overwhelmed and your soul feels empty, there is a better way.
