Does the Bible Matter?
Growing up in a Christian home, I often heard the Bible preached. My parents came to Christ when I was 12 and I saw God change their lives. After I came to Christ at 19, I had a big choice to make—Am I going to trust the Bible as my reliable guide for life?
I was in college then, and the university I was attending was not promoting the Bible as a resource to build your life on. This tension led me to ask, “Is the Bible reliable? Can I build my life on it?”
It’s been 37 years now and the Scriptures have never let me down! God’s Word has truly transformed every part of my thinking and life.
Friend, the Bible is unique compared to every other book in existence—and its reliability has been confirmed through archaeology, ancient secular authors, the fulfillment of prophecies, and much more.
By the way, not only is the Bible reliable, but it is relatable—evidenced by the countless people whose lives have been transformed through engaging with God’s Word! Jesus even said in Matthew 24:35: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” The Word of God is eternal, unchangeable, and trustworthy.
What if you choose to build your life on the bedrock of the Word of God? I truly believe your life will change forever!
As you engage with God’s Word, ask:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
