Revealing Jesus with Darlene ZschechChikamu
His Shoulders
The sheep is weak, unable to return to the flock under its own power. Perhaps injured and near starvation, the sheep is at the mercy of the elements. He has no strength to flee from predators that lurk in the shadows. But hallelujah, there is One who is merciful who never gives up on the sheep that went astray. He fights His way through thick forests, climbs hills and mountains, and crosses streams and rivers. And when He finds His lost sheep, He has shoulders that are strong enough to carry it all the way home.
I can relate to the sheep when Jesus found me. All of us can. None of us could save ourselves. We needed a Savior.
Our Jesus is loving and gentle, but let’s never forget His strength. He is the Lamb of sacrifice, but He is also the Lamb that conquers the power of sin and death. Every knee shall bow to the Victor. He is mighty in battle and mighty to save. His shoulders are strong enough to carry the weight of all the sins of the world.
Do you remember your state when Jesus found you? Have you stopped to thank Him for His persistence in finding you and then carrying you to safety? I am so thankful for the way Jesus picked me up and turned my life around, how I have found strength and joy in His presence that has overwhelmed and healed any past hurts that used to try to choke my soul and destroy my future. I pray we will always remember our BC life, the state we were in before we accepted Christ’s love into our hearts and remain ever grateful that His mercies are new every morning.
I am forever grateful to you, my Lord and Savior, for rescuing me in my state of despair and hopelessness. Thank you for carrying me to the safety of your salvation and the fellowship of your fold.
