Peace Be With You!Chikamu
Prince of Peace
Jesus and the disciples were riding in a boat. It’s a small boat, and suddenly a big old storm kicks up. The waves are huge and the boat is rocking violently. The disciples are upset and frightened, and yet Jesus is just peacefully sleeping. Afraid that the boat will go under and they will die, they wake Him up, frantically saying, ‘Lord, have you not noticed the storm we are in? Do you not care if we die?’ Instead of panicking like his disciples, Jesus calmly and powerfully says, ‘Peace, be still.’ And the storm abates.
What I take this story to mean is that peace is always available to us, no matter what is swirling around us in the world. Regardless of our external circumstances, we can always choose internal peace. The biggest hindrance to peace is our attitude. We must first believe peace is possible. Then we must choose only thoughts that activate peace in our minds, and allow peace to permeate our thoughts, spirit, and soul. We do have control over this, despite what we may tell ourselves.
The Prince of Peace led us by example times and times again. As a matter of fact, didn't He declare that whoever believes in Him will do the works He has been doing, and they will do even greater things?
How do you manage to hold your inner peace when life wreaks havoc over you? Not yet at this stage? No worries! Stay with me in this study.
