Get Off My Boat

DAY 1 OF 4

I firmly believe that God puts people and places and events into your life for a reason. I also believe that God will remove these things from your life once they have become unnecessary or otherwise detrimental to your well-being. You see, God does not want you unhappy. When something in your life is causing you unrest, perhaps it is God’s way of telling you that it is time to remove this obstruction.

Sometimes we, as Christians, are weathering storms in our life, and sometimes this process is made more difficult by the fact that we have what I like to call “Stowaways” on our ships. For those who are reading, maybe you are going through a storm in your life right now. The wind pulls you all over, the rain is beating down on your boat, and you are unsure of what the future has in store. Understand that the Lord will never put more upon you than you can handle. Also understand that, with too many stowaways on your boat, the boat will surely sink. Some things that we have stored in the cargo of our boats simply do not belong. For some of us, it is time for our spring cleaning and time for us to let go of the useless cargo that is weighing us down. It is time for us to clear the fog from our minds that these stowaways are creating. Do not allow anything to rob you of your happiness or pull you off of the path that God himself has placed you on.

Know that, no matter how severe the weather in your life is, Jesus can calm it. Jesus is always with you on your boat. He journeys alongside you and he protects you. Know that, with your faith in the Lord, your storm will surely subside.

What is your storm? How can you apply the words of the Lord to what is going on in your life right now?

About this Plan

Get Off My Boat

As a Christian and a child of God, we have already learned that God often places people in our lives for a reason. We also should consider that God will take them out of our lives for a reason as well. In this plan, we will discuss the importance of keeping an open ear to the Lord in these situations, and removing the “stowaways” in your life.
