Day 7 - You Are Loved

You Are Deeply Loved

Do you ever feel unloved? If you’re fatherless, that feeling is sadly all too common.
I know I felt it.

Growing up, I always knew my mom loved me—and I’m so thankful for that—but sometimes it still felt like I was only “half loved.” I missed the presence and love of a father. During special events in my life, I would often think, “It sure would be nice if Dad were here.”

I remember one moment especially well. In eighth grade, my English teacher asked me to write a poem for a competition. I enjoyed writing, so I gave it a try. At first, the words didn’t come easily—but then God stirred something in my heart, and I began to pour out my feelings about being fatherless. Here are the last four stanzas from that poem:

Then I realized GOD is on my side,
He will never leave me and has never lied.
So my Father now is God above,
He has been ever since I trusted in His love.

Those words still mean a lot to me. They remind me that even if we don’t have an earthly father, we have a Heavenly Father who will never leave us.

CHALLENGE:

Take a moment and ask yourself: What does love mean to me?

Everyone has a different idea of what love looks like. For some, love is a kind word. For others, it’s a gift, a hug, or simply someone showing up. No matter what it looks like, we all need to feel loved.

When we feel loved, life seems lighter. Our hearts feel safer. The world feels a little brighter.
But what happens when we don’t feel loved?

This is one of the most difficult parts of being fatherless. A lack of love can leave deep wounds, and sadly, many of the negative statistics surrounding fatherless children and teens come from this very thing: not feeling loved.

But here’s the truth that changes everything:

You are deeply loved by Jesus Christ.
He proved it in the most powerful way possible. He allowed Himself to be mocked, beaten, spat upon, crowned with thorns, and crucified on a cross—all because He loves you.
He didn’t have to, but He chose to—for you.

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) reminds us:

“…the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.”

Even when life is hard, even when you feel alone, you can rest in the unshakable love of Jesus. That love will never fade, never leave, and never fail.

Today’s Challenge:
Remember how deeply you are loved by Christ. Let that truth sink into your heart.

ACTION STEP:
Write a personal letter to Jesus.
Thank Him for His love, His sacrifice, and the hope He gives you every day.

SUGGESTED PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for loving me so much that You died on the cross for my sins. Thank You for giving me the promise of eternal life and for being my Heavenly Father. I love You, and I’m so grateful for Your love. Amen.
