Grateful for a New Song

When Jesus saves us, we are once again capable of singing a new song to the Lord. It is a song of praise and gratitude, not a song of lament or defeat. It is a song of resurrection, not a song of death. Our new song is one of freedom, grace, and mercy. It is a song of acceptance, relationship, love, purpose, forgiveness, and new beginnings. It is a song of worship, devotion, and allegiance.

We may not all have beautiful voices like our favorite artists on the radio, but we are all redeemed singers with a beautiful melody of praise to our Redeemer in our hearts and on our lips. Our song was once distorted and misdirected by sin, but God intended that our song be for Him. Now that we are redeemed, our joyful song has returned. It is no longer a sad, lonely ballad but a song of joy and thanksgiving. It declares the greatness of God and echoes His glorious works.

We are redeemed. Christ has done such great things for us! That is why we are filled with thanks. Christ Himself has returned our song to us, and now we sing psalms, hymns, songs, and choruses. No matter the quality of our natural voices, let us daily raise them to give thanks to the One who has returned to us our song.

Thought of the Day: A song of praise is a wonderful way for me to express my gratitude to God today. Jesus has forgiven my sins and returned my song!
