Prayerful Planning
Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out. PROVERBS 16:3 GNT
How have you included God in your plans? Have you asked Him for His approval and blessing on what you want to accomplish? Do your activities honor Him? Most of us get caught up in various social settings and lost in demanding work activities. We have relational obligations or pursuits that keep us busy. But being intentional about inviting God to bless our plans gives our lives purpose. Asking Him to enter into every moment and conversation of each day deepens our intimacy with our Creator and keeps our focus on what matters. Asking God to bless your plans might help reshape friendships or lead to more clarity around a frustrating family dynamic. It might cause you to reconsider your hours at work or the amount of evening activities you engage in. As you rest your mind tonight, think through one thing you might do differently in the week ahead that would bring you more peace and joy.
God, it feels like I'm running from one task to the next without giving it much thought. It can be overwhelming to think intentionally about my time. It can be easy to use my time thoughtlessly, but that sometimes leaves me feeling isolated or exhausted. Give me a willingness to build my life around You, God. Thank You for caring about even the smallest details of my life. None of it is too small for You. Amen.
