NIV Once-A-Day Bible for WomenChikamu
Proverbs 2:1–11
Nothing of value is obtained easily or cheaply. That applies not only to substances like precious metals and jewels but also to spiritual attributes like wisdom. If we want wisdom, we must turn our ears, apply our hearts, call out for insight, cry aloud for understanding and look and search as though we’re on the hunt for a priceless treasure. God doesn’t often give such gifts to passive recipients; he gives them to those who demonstrate their hunger for them. When we search for wisdom diligently, God rewards us. We “understand the fear of the Lord” (Proverbs 2:5) and tap into the knowledge that can come only from him.
