30 Days Defeating the Arch-Enemy of Our Finances (Mammon)

DAY 13 OF 30

GIVING THAT MOVES HEAVEN

I have learned that you cannot outgive God. He has already given us the most priceless thing – our salvation through Jesus Christ. But when we give financially, prompted by Him, we receive His favor, and sometimes even more than what we gave. I've personally experienced this. Once, after giving, by the end of the day I received back a few times more than I had given.

Of course the Bible makes it clear that we do not give in order to receive. Receiving cannot be our main motivation. Nevertheless, in the economy of Heaven, when we give, we receive. After all, "No one outgives God!" In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul said that if we sow, we reap. The context is of a missionary offering, a type of offering that activates blessings. In the Bible, there is giving that moves heaven such as giving to the poor, giving to missionaries, giving toward the expansion of the Kingdom, among others. Regardless of the purpose of the offering, if the Holy Spirit prompts you and you obey, you will undoubtedly grow in your obedience and dependence on the Father.

When we receive our harvest, we see that in reality God does not need our money, but He creates opportunities to break our tendency toward stinginess and to bless us. His love deeply impacts us. Ironically, there are many financial investors who have not yet understood this basic principle from Scripture - whoever sows, reaps! Whoever plants constantly, reaps in all seasons!

Remember: No one can outgive God. Believe in the spiritual law of sowing and reaping.
