Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 11Chikamu
We need to live like there is no tomorrow.
We need to be intentional and purposeful in our prayers. Prayer is imperative to our daily lives. Prayer cannot just be something added to our “to-do” list. Jesus set such an example of prayer that His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. They saw the result of intentional and purposeful prayer.
Love earnestly and fervently. In ancient times, the word fervent was used to describe a horse in full gallop, stretching and straining its muscles. As Christians, love is automatically part of our DNA in Christ. Romans 5 says that God has poured out His love into our hearts. That means that there is unlimited love in us. There are many people who are feeling unloved and uncared for. That should not be so if there are Christians around. So, if we love people, let’s give it all we’ve got. Hold nothing back in your love for those around you.
We need to show hospitality without grumbling. We can many times have the right action but the wrong attitude.
Serve one another. We all have spiritual gifts, and we should use them to help others and to glorify God. The verse continues to say, “as good stewards of God’s varied grace." Therefore, by applying your gifts, God’s many-colored grace can be displayed.
We are the body of Christ, and we are the expression of Jesus Christ in what we do. Let us pray, love, and serve like there is no tomorrow.
