The Promise of Christmas

ZUVA 2 REMAZUVA 20

Christmas is a season that can be jam-packed with stuff. Holiday parties at work, school celebrations for your kids, tons of presents to buy, decorations to put up, family to visit, big dinners to prepare—the list could go on and on! Sure, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s often also the busiest season of the year! While most of the things that fill our schedules at Christmas are fun and exciting things we want to do, they still take our time and attention. And the more time and attention we give to those things, the less we have to focus on what makes Christmas the best season ever. We miss the chance to focus on the promise of God fulfilled in the birth of Jesus! During this holiday season, make an effort to make room for Jesus. To find the joy, hope, and peace of the season that can only come from Him.

Look at your schedule each week this Christmas season. Where can you find time to spend with Jesus? It doesn’t have to be hours and hours! This can be as simple as giving a few extra minutes in the morning to prayer, journaling, listening to music, or chatting with your family about what Christmas means to you. Whatever it is for you, give yourself time to remember what Christmas is all about this year.

The Promise of Christmas

The birth of Jesus isn’t just a great story; it’s a real event that shows us not just how God loves us but how God’s people (just like us) had to learn to trust in the face of incredibly difficult and, at times, unbelievable circumstances. We’ll be reminded of the humanity in the story and the faith it takes to believe in the promise of Christmas!
