Day 1: Friends On Purpose: Mom Edition

"Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."

– Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV

Hey there, amazing moms! Let's take a moment to celebrate the incredible power of friendship with a big ol' fist bump and a cheer! Woohoo!

Think about it, who's the first person you call when you receive exciting news? Who's the superhero who's got your back when your heart is broken? Who's the laugh-maker, the cheerleader who brings you joy when you're stressed? And let's not forget the angel who shows up with a cup of ice cream or a cupcake when your little one has kept you up all night. You got it, mama, that's your friend! Whether they're a gal pal, a guy buddy, or even your partner in crime, they're your friend.

We all need Godly friendships in our lives, and boy, am I thankful to the Lord for the incredible tribe of women He's placed in my life. They're my cheerleaders, my confidantes, and my partners in adventure.

Friends have a way of influencing us, whether we like it or not. Think back to your younger days, and you'll probably realize that when you got into a bit of mischief, you were rarely ever alone. The Word of God in Proverbs 27:17 tells us to be intentional about the kind of friendships we engage in. It's like having a buddy who sharpens you like iron sharpens iron. How cool is that?

But here's the scoop, mama. When we're not intentional about our friendships, we end up getting tossed around like a salad in a whirlwind. We can't see what's hiding beneath the surface, and that's no fun. Intentional friendship means seeking out those connections and putting effort into one another. It means taking a good look inside ourselves before seeking solace in the arms of a friend.

Now, let's dive into the treasure chest of wisdom found in the Scriptures. Check out these verses that will give you a boost of encouragement and inspiration:

Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)

"A friend loves at all times, and a sister is born for a time of adversity."

Proverbs 27:9 (NLT)

"Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice."

John 15:13 (NIV)

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

Isn't it amazing how God's Word reminds us of the importance of friends who love, support, and uplift us? These verses are like little nuggets of wisdom to keep in our back pockets as we journey through motherhood.

Intentional friendship isn't a one-way street, oh no! It blossoms and grows with time. It's like a beautiful garden that needs care, water, and the occasional dance party.

So here's my challenge for you today and this week, supermom: Make a conscious effort to reach out to people, to do or say things that may not come naturally. Let's become even better friends with those around us and watch our relationships grow by leaps and bounds.

Remember, you're not alone on this wild mom journey. You've got an army of fellow moms who've got your back, your heart, and your never-ending supply of coffee. Together, we can conquer mountains, wipe away tears, and share the most incredible belly laughs.

So let's embrace the power of friendship, mama! Let's be friends on purpose, supporting and uplifting each other every step of the way. High-five to that!

Now, go rock your mom superhero cape and show the world how amazing you are. You've got this!

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with grateful hearts, thanking You for the incredible gift of motherhood. Lord, we recognize that this journey can sometimes feel overwhelming and lonely. We long for friendships with fellow moms who understand the joys and challenges we face.

We humbly ask that You would bring mom friends into our lives, dear God. We pray for kindred spirits who will walk alongside us, supporting and encouraging us on this beautiful and sometimes chaotic journey. Lord, we trust in Your divine wisdom to bring the right people into our path. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
