When Easy Doesn’t Live Here: Living by Faith When Life Is Hard a 7 - Day Plan By: Joy A. WilliamsChikamu
DAY 6: THE RELEASE OF WHAT'S NEXT
Life feels easy when our plans succeed, or a dream comes true. But I feel an annoying ache when life becomes an existence I thought would be different. If you have your own golden scenario gone wrong, you know what I mean. It happens when an outcome is not the result I prayed for, or the only options available are not any of the options I'd choose.
But what we do next can turn our golden scenario gone wrong into a godly scenario made possible. Getting there often involves taking a bold step of faith. But even when our faith feels shaky, releasing the faith we have can become a bridge to the level of faith we need. (Mark 9:14-27)
From trusting God's timing to taking a new approach to an old problem, at times, I've wanted an easier step to appear. But at some point in our walk with God, we must surrender to the ways of God. This obedience was exemplified by Christ as He prepared to give His life for our sins. (Matthew 26:36-39) It is required as we seek to embrace God's plan for our lives too.
It may be hard to imagine something beautiful emerging from life's difficulties. But with God, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) Consider what could happen in the next season of your life. No matter how many scenarios we can imagine, God does immeasurably more than we can ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
PRAYER: Lord, I lift up all the broken parts and missing pieces of my life to You. Help me to recover from what's difficult. I'm grateful that You do immeasurably more than I can ask or think. Thank You for making my godly scenario possible. In Jesus' name, amen.
