Persevere

DAY 4 OF 7

Persevere by holding on.

Suddenly my mother and I looked at each other, and tears of joy rolled down our cheeks. What a moment that was! My mom had suffered a stroke just a few weeks before, and I think everyone will understand that it was not an easy situation.

Even though she couldn't go to worship services in that condition, she loved watching on livestream. Sunday after Sunday, we came together to have a delicious breakfast and then enjoy the service, even without being able to sing along.

At that moment, I realized my mother had been stopped in life by this incident, but she used that situation to hold on to God's hand even more tightly. We experienced what happens when we hold on to God's hand—we see Him working! And suddenly, one Sunday morning, a miracle happened: we were able to sing together again!

We experienced God in that moment as David had when he said, "Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me." (Psalm 63:7-8, NKJV)

Are you currently stopped by a situation in your life? I exhort you to use this time to hold on to God's hand even more tightly!

When I had COVID last year, it mostly hit my voice. I wondered for a brief moment if I'd ever be able to sing again, but then I remembered what God had done for my mother because she'd continued to hold His hand. I, too, sat down in front of my TV, with my sore throat and discomfort, and watched the Sunday services on livestream. At first, neither she nor I could sing along, but one Sunday morning…you know how the story goes. The miracle happened!

I want to encourage you: if you are stopped situationally in life, it should only remind you to hold on to His hand even more tightly. In every wound, there is a miracle! It's true in your life, too. Hold on. Hold His hand. :-)

You are a miracle!
