Real Hope: Definition of Love

DAY 3 OF 6

An Awareness Of Love

Jesus asked us to ‘abide’ in His love because, as much as we seek His love, we often build barriers to His love.

The Father’s relentless, unconditional and universal love for Christ was now through Christ offered to humanity who are invited to abide in that same divine love. What if you did not need to earn God’s love? What if your experience of love was not based on your performance but your awareness?

Awareness of what has already been given to me, and my neighbour, my church and creation. God’s relentless, unconditional and universal love, available to all through one’s sincere and honest awareness. Awareness of oneself, and the limits that have been built within that withhold God’s generous love. Limits that usually resemble a lack of self-acceptance and forgiveness.

This can be challenging work, to face one’s limits, but through Jesus and the help of the Holy Spirit, every limit is a sacred threshold that moves you into a deeper experience of God and a truer understanding of yourself. My prayer for you today is that you would sense God’s compassion and care as you face your limits and with courage move deeper into love.

About this Plan

Real Hope: Definition of Love

Love, some would say, runs the world. Love of self, the idea of love, romantic love sold to us in the movies, love of things, love of success etc. It’s a word that’s used in everyday conversation, used to describe feelings, emotions and relationships. However, somewhere in there we can lose sight of the biblical meaning of love. In this plan we’ll explore just what love really is.
