SEEK SOUND UNDERSTANDING (2)
Proverbs 4:7-9; Colossians 1:9-11
Every Christian has faith to live a supernatural life, but a lack of understanding makes faith not work. You must have a sound understanding of everything that happened to you in Christ. Keep asking questions until you understand, no matter who preached. You can approach your pastor after the service and say, "Excuse me, sir, you said something I don't understand." One of my friends read one of my books and called me, saying, "You made this statement in your book, I want you to explain", and I explained.
Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding”. I am sure that you have things in your house that you are not enjoying because you don't understand them. Many people are using telephones, but they are not getting value for what they purchased. Some phones have a lot of functions, but you may only make use of the power and the receive buttons while someone else with the same phone can make a conference call. It is the same phone, but the other person has more understanding.
Look at another critical example: when we break bread and take Communion, what does it mean? Though you are born again, you might sleep in the night and have experiences that confuse you, such as having sex in the dream, eating in the dream, etc. It shouldn't be anymore! Once you gain the understanding that Communion is the covenant meal between you and Jesus and you eat it with that in mind, every other covenant in your life is immediately nullified.
PRAYER: Lord, I believe Your word for unto me it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God (Mar. 4:11; Luk. 8:10). Amen!
