Why You Should Earn All You CanChikamu
While the Bible has plenty of warnings about the dangers of money, a holistic view of the verses about money indicate that poverty is not God’s desired alternative. What I believe He is really after (regardless of the size of our bank accounts) is our hearts.
And when we are talking about earning all we can for His glory, the question I had to resolve for myself many years ago was, what is the alternative?
Is God’s best really for me to NOT work heartily unto Him and do mediocre work so I don’t accidentally get promoted into a higher income?
That thinking just doesn’t line up with my reading of scripture and seems to be the short-sighted path.
I believe the Parable of the Talents illustrates this point as well. God has entrusted us with “talents” and we have a responsibility to make the most of them, use them for His glory, and not bury them out of fear.
I am convinced that God put us on the earth to work and create with excellence and to multiply whatever it is we have been entrusted with.
Today, take a minute and ask Him to reveal how you can continue to grow in this area.
About this Plan
While the Bible has plenty of warnings about the dangers of money, a holistic view of the verses about money indicate that poverty is not God’s desired alternative. Above all, it seems God wants our hearts. So, like John Wesley, we can earn all we can, with the right heart posture, to fund and finance Kingdom work and make an eternal impact.
