A CHURCH PURPOSED FOR OTHERS
As the writer of the letter to the Hebrew church states, “stir up one another” and “encourage one another.”
We grow the most when we help someone else grow.
When you assist someone else in their spiritual development, it shows that you are maturing and growing in your relationship with God. When we make our faith and mission about how we can help others, we find ourselves refreshed, our faith hydrated, and we begin to flourish and grow.
When we help someone else take a step, our own faith and walk with God come alive! The irony of helping someone else take a step is that it is the most maturing and growing action you can take in your own life.
Scripture: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” - Hebrews 10: 24 - 25
Prayer Point: Father, we thank you for calling us to be a Church purposed for others; we want to grow by helping someone else grow. Lord, show me who you would like me to help to grow. Help them to know Jesus, help them to find a community, or to discover their purpose. I thank you that we grow the most when we help others.
