Year of the Bible: Part Twelve of TwelveChikamu
The Enemy is Defeated
Do you know that every believer has access to a powerful weapon that crushes the enemy? In John's revelation, we learn all about it. This weapon is the blood of Jesus. The power of His blood is further unleashed when we testify to the victory of Jesus. Look at this with me: verse 11 says believers overcome Satan through three things:
• The Blood of Jesus Christ
• The word of their testimony
• By not loving their lives, even unto death
When you find yourself amid the battle, remind yourself of these things:
1. Christ's victory through His blood is permanent. His victory can never be undone, His work will never be destroyed, and the unleashing of the bonds of sin can never be tied around you again. Satan is thrown down!
2. Recount your testimony by saying it out loud! Proclaim the goodness of Jesus and how you have seen him work in your life and on behalf of all humanity. Your testimony is a powerful weapon and useful for lifting your eyes to the hope of Jesus. Satan is thrown down!
3. Prioritize God's agenda above yours. Every day we get the chance to worship Jesus by laying our lives on the altar as living sacrifices, pleasing to Him and ready to do His will. You've been set free and are loved deeply; set your heart toward Him to love Him in return with your obedience, words of praise, a willing heart, and sacrifice of praise. Worship expressed through trust is a precious gift in Jesus's sight, especially when given in the middle of the hard stuff. Satan is thrown down!
Question: Where do you need to shift your attitude from complaining to worshiping, declaring your testimony, and prioritizing God's plans?
Prayer: "In a little while, the heavens will be rolled back like a scroll, and we will all see You as You are. Teach my heart to live in the reality that You are victorious and are to be feared, respected, loved, and trusted. There is no one like You! Arise, my heart, and learn the fear of the Lord. Be strengthened, my soul, in the Lord because He is trustworthy! Have your way in me, Jesus. Guide me today as I step out in faith, and teach me to love everyone I meet with truth and kindness. In Jesus' mighty, un-conquerable name, Amen!
