There are so many incredible things about the gift of Jesus coming to Earth. It was a demonstration of God’s love for us. It was a chance to change our lives. It was a rescue from the weight of our sins and a glimpse of the hope we can have for the future. But one of the biggest things Jesus came to bring us was His presence. As John reminds us here, Jesus became flesh to live among us. He came to be a physical reminder of the presence of God with us in everything. Then, leaving Earth, Jesus gave us another gift: His Spirit.
As followers of Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in us to love us, guide us, encourage us, and help us follow God’s will for our lives. Because of the Spirit, we’re never without the presence of God in our lives. Sometimes, all we need to do to remember that truth is to pause in that presence. So this week, make time to do just that. Think about what it might look like for you to find time to pause so that you can sense God’s presence through His Spirit. Then, carve out time to do that intentionally so you can meet God in His presence this week.

About this Plan
Being busy has become the norm—a way of doing things in a culture that celebrates and even encourages living life well beyond our mental, emotional, and physical capacity. The result? A hurried life. So what do we do? During this devotional, we’ll look at the value of slowing down, taking a break, and pushing pause when we need it the most to help us be present, connect with God, and see God’s presence in our lives.
