Change The Way You See

Key Thought

We are living in a society that loves to put everything out for us to see. The problem is, we often see things we should never have seen. Kids are seeing things that their young minds are not ready to process. It is becoming obvious the world over that we must be careful what we look at. There are some things you cannot un- see!

This is what got Adam and Eve into trouble in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden. They looked at the tree they were not allowed to touch long before they reached out for it and ate from it.

They wanted the fruit because they saw something when they looked at it. What do you see when you look? What do you see when you look at people and possessions? Do you look with a jealous eye, a lustful eye? How much do you want what you don't have?

If we are to become more like Jesus, we must change the way we see things. And the best way to see anything is through the eyes of Jesus.

God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, when He said, "Lift up your eyes and see.. then you shall see..". When our eyes are down on the depravity of our society it will cause us to see things the wrong way. But, when we lift our eyes, we get to see things the way God see things. Then, eventually, we will see what God sees when He looks at things.

Time To Think

Can I see what God sees when I look at the same things He looks at?

Prayer

Father, You are the creator of all things. You have no problem getting things to me if I ask You for them. Help me not to covet or

lust or steal what does not belong to me. Help me to see things the way You see them. Amen.

CHANGED! And Changing Still..

When we surrender to Jesus He changes us in a moment but we are still being changed everyday to become more like Him. This devotion deals with the everyday, ordinary changes that we all face in becoming more Christ-like. We are changed and changing still.
