[Life of David] Dying Done: Bucket List CheckedChikamu
Our Impact Is Now
Our days on this earth are numbered, so our impact is now. It is not about later. Our life, our time on earth is about now. Do you ever ask yourself what your impact is? If we were to die tomorrow, what would we leave behind? In what ways has your life and my life impacted those around us—our families, our friends, our coworkers, our neighbors? It is so important that we understand that our impact is NOW. What are we going to do now? How are we going to walk with God now? How are we going to make a difference now? What is it that God wants us to do now? How can we raise others up to make a difference now?
Do not let the things you have done or the things you wish you had done hold you back. Give yourself permission to move on. Is there something you wish to do? Go for it. What is holding you back? It might be a bucket list item or just some fun. Go for it. Put it on the calendar. Save the money. Make it happen. Get on the plane. Whatever it is. Something that you want to do spiritually. Go for it. You have never been on a mission trip? Go for it. Never shared your faith with anybody? Go for it. Never really sung from your heart? Try it. Never read the Bible through? Go for it. Never done a devotional each day? Go for it. Never really ministered to somebody and given to them? Go for it.
Is there something you want to do, something God is wanting you to do? Go for it. Make it happen. This is how we end up with a full life. We do not end up that way by sitting in our room saying: “I do not know. I am too scared. I am not too sure how to do this.” There can be guilt, shame, or fear, but all those things holding you back are not from the Lord. All that is holding you back has been taken care of on the cross. Remember, there is no better day than today to live our lives for the Lord. This is the time for us to impact our generation!
Stand up, raise your head high, walk forward and say, “Do you know what? I am going to believe Jesus Christ. I am going to go for it and let God do His work.”
About this Plan
The bucket list that satisfies the heart is fulfilling the purposes of God. As we fall in love with Him, seek to know Him, and remain faithful to Him, His purposes will find us. From that space, we can die “done” with a bucket list checked off and a life fulfilled.
