God Is With You, Always
Have you ever been in a pit? Perhaps you lost a loved one and have been in the pit of grief. Maybe you experienced financial issues and lived in the pit of debt, or maybe you struggle in the pit of addiction or the pit of an emotional issue that affects each day of your life.
It is interesting that in this passage God's response to the author is not to remove the pit immediately. He does not automatically take away the problem causing our pain. Instead, He tells the person in the pit not to be afraid. Although the pit is real, God is saying His presence is just as real, and He draws near when we call on Him.
Psalm 145:18 says, "The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." Are you in a pit today? Your circumstances may not change right away, but He is close to you, and He is telling you not to be afraid.
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
