Daily Bible Reading – June 2022: God’s Renewing Word of New Life in the SpiritChikamu
June 29
Introduction
In today’s reading, the apostle Paul discusses glossolalia, speaking in tongues. Paul encourages the proclaiming of God’s message to edify the community and serve the common good.
Scripture Reading
1 Corinthians 14:1-25
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 14:3
Those who proclaim God’s message speak to people and give them help, encouragement, and comfort.
Reflect
In verse 1, what does Paul say one should strive for? What does Paul say about those who speak in strange tongues (verse 2)? Reread verses 3 and 4. Why does Paul place importance on proclaiming God’s message? What message will you proclaim today? In what ways are your spiritual gifts used to build up the church?
Pray
Lord God, I am eager to have the gifts of the Spirit. Teach me how to use those gifts to build up your holy church. Guide my words and actions this day so that I may be a source of help, encouragement, and comfort to others. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
1 Corinthians 14:26-40: The apostle Paul concludes his advice to the Corinthians about proclaiming God’s message and speaking in strange tongues.
