"Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced." 1 Chron. 16:8-12
Things that positively overwhelm you make you feel compelled to share. When you experience God and it is so amazing, you just have to tell anyone who will listen. As Jesus' life on earth came to an end, one of the things he imparted to the disciples was to tell others—to share the gospel of Christ so that others might believe. He spoke on it endlessly and commissioned them to share it all over the world. Because of this, the Great Commission is for us to go out and make disciples—to tell others of our experience with God so that they will desire to experience Him themselves.
As you have taken the first steps this week to living a God-first lifestyle, the last thing I want to leave with you is the blessing that comes from sharing God. The Lord desires you to be overtaken by the change you have experienced in your life by putting him first, to the point that you have to tell anyone you know. He wants you to share the experience, but he also wants you to describe what you did. What good would it be to describe a dining experience and never share the restaurant's name?
Today as you go through the day, find someone to share your experience with. Share with them what you see happening and what you did to get there. Share with them the sacrifices you made to set aside time and how you sought God first in an attempt to develop a God-first lifestyle. You will find that as you brag on God, and your experience of Him, then minister how you came to that experience, you will feel the intangible presence of God in a new way.
Ministering the gospel of God allows us to experience him in an entirely different way. You will feel your purpose come out, and the very reason you were put on this earth manifests before you. You will embody what it means to live a God-first lifestyle.
Congratulations, and keep God first!
