Walking Through a Spiritual DroughtChikamu
Read Your Bible
The Bible was written over 2,000 years ago. It was written for us to engage with it (whether reading it or watching it) and then apply it. Spiritual drought causes us to think, "Why is God not listening to me, or is He silent?" It causes us to think, "why is my relationship with other people not going well?" and the list goes on. When we put away the Word of God, which is the Bible, it causes us to fall away from God's glory, falling into a spiritual drought, and our relationship with others turns into chaos. We need to go back to the Word of God and engage with it. You may be saying, "I don't feel like reading it; I want Him to speak to me without any Bible engagement." Hold up. God has been speaking to you the whole time. Since the beginning, he has been there; it's just that you chose not to be engaged. I want to encourage you that the Bible is God's way of speaking to you. Even if you don't feel like reading it, read or watch it anyway. The fact that you are doing this Bible plan is a step in the right direction. The more you read it, the more you will be able to enjoy His presence and feed your Spirit what it needs to grow. The Bible is here to transform you; the Bible is here to help you. Even if it was written over 2,000 years ago, it is ALIVE!
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Today, challenge yourself:
- Write down all the Scripture used in this Bible plan. Look up each one and read them, then reread them.
- Seek the Spirit for guidance. Ask the Lord to show you where He wants you to start reading in His Word. Remember, the Bible is God's way of speaking to us. Ask the Spirit to give you an understanding and slow response.
