A Heart of Service

ZUVA 2 REMAZUVA 3

Reverend Everett Swanson started Compassion International in 1952 because God stirred up a heart of service for the orphans in South Korea while he was preaching the gospel to soldiers during the Korean War.

What started with a simple thought and a heart for humanity is now an organization that partners with 8,000 churches in 27 countries and has 15 partner countries that fund Compassion’s programs through sponsorship and other interventions. This is because of the contribution of men and women who chose to give their gifts and talents to the mission of “releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.” Compassion is thriving with the hard work and support invested by its staff, volunteers, and supporters over the years.

When we join together, each contributing their unique gifts and skills, we can see amazing things happen. That is why relationships are so important to the heart of service. Relationships are an interconnected web with the strength to support a vision and mission more significant than ourselves, and we need each other to thrive.

How can I join others in building God’s Kingdom?

Lord, direct me to connect with the right people, so we can love others and serve You together. Amen.
