Welcome to our Heart for His House Devotional

What happens in a church is hard to describe in few words, yet we know how good we feel after gathering, worshipping, laughing, crying, talking, hearing God’s word and eating together. We're just so much better together.

We pray this 21 day devotional our team has prepared will give you fresh eyes and a new love for the gathering of God's people, genuinely understanding what it means to have a heart for His house.

Much love,

Pastors Jack and Carol

Day 1

Home. Family.

Ps Allyson Parker

When my daughter Rebecca was just three years old, she would always come with me when I came to volunteer for the Children's Pastor, which was several times a week. For her, Church was like another home. Like all little children, she was the focus of anyone's attention if they met her in the hallways or foyer or if I happened to stop by someone's office. I remember vividly the day we opened the front door of the Church, and she immediately asked, "Has everyone come to play with me today?" In her little heart and mind, Church was the place she belonged, was accepted and was definitely loved. It was home, filled with family and friends.

This is the perfect picture of God's intention for us all, but it is only found in that beautiful familiarity of being here.

1 John 1:3 (NIrV)
We announce to you what we have seen and heard. We do it so you can share life with us. And we share life with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

You belong. May you find yourself so familiar with the front doors of God's house that you too know that this is home, and everyone is family.

Prayer:

Father, how often I hear the whispered lie, "I don't belong." But this is not truth. I thank you that I do belong, and I have found a place filled with 'extended family'. Amen.
