A Devotional Guide to Pray With Gratitude During the Thanksgiving Season

ZUVA 1 REMAZUVA 9

THANK YOU, GOD, FOR SALVATION!

I will be authentic with you; it was not until my husband lost his shoulder and arm that I ever thought to thank God individually for various parts of my body. His loss made me look at prayer differently. I consider myself an intercessor which requires a lot of asking, but now I know that receiving often comes after gratitude and thanksgiving!

Today, let’s start at the top by thanking God for Salvation! I don’t want this study to be just me praying. I want it to be thought-provoking because within each of our hearts is a reservoir of thanksgiving. This is an action study where you participate. Take your time, and bask in His presence as you approach Him in prayer. Give your gratitude to God with boldness!

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”  Hebrews 4:16 NIV

• Begin by telling God what Salvation means to you.

• Tell God why you are thankful that He made a way for us in eternity.

• Reminisce with God on how Salvation has changed your life.

• Sincerely thank Him for what Christ went through.

“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress,  my refuge in times of trouble.”  Psalm 59:16 NIV

Dear Father God,

As we enter the month of Thanksgiving, we want to take time each day to thank You and give You praise, for You are so worthy, Lord! We know we are as numerous as the sand on the seashore, yet for each one of us, God, You gave us purpose! Because we have sinned and needed mercy and grace, You allowed Your only Son to become a sacrifice to atone for our sins. Oh Lord, we thank You, for Jesus is our Salvation! We know there is no other one but Him who was tortured, humiliated, suffered, died, and rose again to become that sacrifice. You know me, God, like no other. You have loved me when I was not loveable. When others gave up on me, You were there. I thank You, Lord, for being a God of forgiveness and saving my soul. All praise to You, Father, and to Your Son Jesus!  Amen.

CAN YOU RELATE?

Without Jesus, you and I would have no hope for an eternal presence with God. Join me tomorrow as we give God our gratitude for life!
