Keep Your Priorities in Order

Step One:  Start your time with the Lord by praying for yourself and your family and your day. For example, " I love You, Lord Jesus. You are so good to me! I ask for you to bless my family. Help me and my husband to grow closer than ever before. Help us to love one another as You have loved us. Teach me! Show me what I need to know today. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Step Two: Read the Scriptures and devotional. Write anything that stands out to you in your journal.

As Christian women, we recognize the importance of keeping our priorities straight. We must put God first, our husbands second, and our children third in our lives.

I became a mama over nineteen years ago. I can testify the days are long but the years are short. I treasure these years of having my children live in my home. The reality is whether I like it or not, they are going to grow up and, Lord willing, move out, get married, and have families of their own. They will leave the nest, and my husband and I will live the rest of our years together in our house alone, just the two of us. That thought sobers me.

My husband and I have realized we cannot allow ourselves to get so caught up in the messiness of raising our family that we grow apart. We need to keep our marriage healthy, strong, and spend the time it takes to grow our relationship. I don't want to wake up one day and find our marriage is empty and our relationship is dead. I know you don't want that for your marriage either!

So, how do we keep that from happening? Thankfully, there is a lot of advice out there for how to have a great Christian marriage. While much of it is wonderful, not all of it will apply to your unique relationship. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for a healthy marriage. As with all areas of your life, it is of utmost importance to seek God about what He wants you to do. God designed marriage (Genesis 2:23-24) and He has a plan and a purpose for your marriage.

May the Lord bless you as you pray about loving your husband today. God will help you, Mama!

Step Three: Take five minutes to plan your day. Write down six things you would like to accomplish today. Ask God to help you! Have a wonderful day!

With Love,
