Real Hope: God the Provider

Remember His Provision

In today’s world, it’s difficult to picture such scenes. They seem almost surreal, movie-like. A million plus people and livestock, wandering in the desert and being provided for through rock-water, heavenly bread, and lost birds. Despite the distance between our realities and theirs, this account gives us some valuable insight.

During this journey of life, we may find ourselves in need, crying out to God. God does provide; however, He may use unexpected methods. God has been providing for His people since He created them. He is not about to stop now. If you find yourself in need, waiting on God, do not complain as the Israelites did. Rather, take out a pen and notebook and recall the past experiences of God’s provision in your life. As you put pen to paper you may find courage and strength in the revelation that He has been providing for and caring for you all along. My prayer is that through this process your faith is stirred and your spirit strengthened to navigate this season of need.

‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’ (Isaiah 55:8–9 NIV)
