Trusting for Today Instead of Troubling for Tomorrow Chikamu
We have God’s loving presence for today. Speaking of King Solomon, Jesus reminds us that although He had everything and was dressed in splendor seemingly above the lilies, how much more does God provide for us. How much more will God clothe us, feed us, and tend to our needs. God cares for you! We have God’s loving presence – NOW. He loves us now irrespective of our circumstances and is not dependent upon whether we have it all in order. God created us. God redeems us. God provides for us.
“God, the Creator, loves to give you good gifts, loves to give you the Kingdom – loves, that is, to bring his sovereign care and rescue right to your own door.” - N.T. Wright
We get to rest in what He’s already done in love. We get the opportunity to live from a place of rest (sabbath); meditating on and showcasing His goodness, His Word, His love, and His finished work.
QUESTIONS
Where are you seeing God’s love at work in the ordinary right now?
Consider what sabbath rest looks like for you. Are you resting from all that consumes you or are you resting with an awareness of God’s finished work?
