Pandemic Pregnancy

DAY 4 OF 7

God has your back. I know it can feel lonely at times, especially in a post-pandemic time frame where some are afraid to get around littles or be part of your pregnancy journey. It can be scary not knowing how to handle certain situations or how to answer medical questions, especially as a new mom. Wherever you are and however you are feeling, God has your back, He has your front, He has your present, your future, He has it all.

Think about a mother's ability to calm a crying child. Think about the times a "boo boo" just needed a magical kiss or when a "dad joke" turned fear into laughter. Christ is our Father and the ultimate example of calming, magical, boo boo healing. As we are there for our children, He is there for us. At times, kids turn away, they cry, they complain, they want nothing to do with us, and whereas they are louder or more vocal about it, metaphorically speaking, we do the exact same thing to God during times of turmoil!

Today I want you to write out 5 fears or insecurities you have as a parent, or about becoming one. Next, write out 5 strengths you feel you possess in parenthood. Now, cross through the 5 words while praying over your list of negatives, proclaiming out loud that God has diminished each of them. Lastly, circle each of your positive 5 words while proclaiming out loud that you are grateful for the gifts and strengths God has given you. Every parent is different, everyone's lists will be different, but regardless, we all have a God that has defeated the negatives, lifted up the strengths, and specifically chosen the children that will flourish under our list!

Your last challenge: Go tell your partner what you feel their strengths are and give them some encouragement today.
