GOD HATES SIN

Sadly, the world continues to sin, despite having received God's commandments for godly living. Such is the sinful nature of humanity. Sin angers God and separates us from Him spiritually. He could destroy again as He had in the past as with the destructive flood in Noah's time or the annihilation of Sodom and Gomorrah and the Canaanites.

But God is a loving God who wants us to have life and have it abundantly. God demonstrated His overflowing love for the world by not leaving the human race in its sin. God's grief over people's sin led Him to provide a way of redemption. God doesn't want us to be slaves of sin, which leads to death, but slaves to obedience, which leads to righteousness.

SALVATION THROUGH THE CROSS

On the cross, Jesus' death was all part of God's sovereign plan to set us free from sin. Christ laid down His life for you, but it didn't end there. He was buried and rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures, and He lives! He lives so that YOU may live and have eternal life in the presence of God.

God gives us the freedom of choice. You can either reject Him or believe in Him. Jesus is the only way to God. He said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6). The gift of salvation is free and comes through Jesus Christ. You can't earn your way into heaven.

If you believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and ask for forgiveness for your sins, God will forgive you. Then turn from your sins. God will help you through the Holy Spirit, who lives in you once you become a Christian. If you haven't accepted God's loving and merciful gift of unmerited salvation, you can receive it by praying:

"Dear God, I know that I'm a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sins. I believe that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord from today and forever. Guide me and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen."

John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
